Afterglow XX was an interesting journey for me because my first impression wasn't exactly what I expected. I'll be honest—the dark espresso comes in hot right out of the gate, and for my personal taste it was a little stronger than I anticipated. I thought I'd immediately fall in love with the coffee note, but initially it overpowered some of the other elements in the profile.

The magic happens once the scent settles down.

As the espresso mellows, the rest of the profile starts to shine. The glowing orange peel adds a subtle citrus brightness that works surprisingly well against the darker elements, while the smoky atmosphere and warm woods create this rich, comforting backdrop that keeps pulling you back in for another sniff. The coffee never completely disappears either—it hangs around in the background throughout the wear, occasionally stepping forward to remind you it's there without dominating everything else.

One thing I found particularly interesting was the skin musk. I'm honestly not entirely sure what skin musk smells like on its own, but there's a unique funkiness woven into this scent that adds a little extra character and complexity. While the fragrance wasn't necessarily a personal favorite from start to finish, it was a refreshing change of pace and became more enjoyable the longer I wore it.
