Blue Buried Barbershop is another fantastic creation from Matt at Wagoner's Workshop. While this one leans on the milder side in terms of strength, it arrives at the perfect time of year because it's an incredibly light, fresh, and easy-wearing scent that's tailor-made for warm summer days.

Right from application, the lavender, bergamot, and rosemary take center stage, creating a crisp and refreshing aroma that immediately gives off classic barbershop vibes. The blueberry isn't necessarily prominent as a distinct fruit note, but it contributes a subtle sweetness that beautifully complements the floral and herbal character of the lavender, rosemary, and geranium. The result is a bright, clean scent that feels polished, fresh, and extremely wearable.
As the scent develops, the tonka bean, oakmoss, and vanilla begin to emerge, transforming the profile into something warmer and richer. The vanilla becomes the star of the dry down, bringing a smooth sweetness that mirrors the subtle sweetness initially introduced by the blueberry. The oakmoss and tonka bean add depth and a slightly resinous quality that gives the scent more character without sacrificing its clean barbershop identity. Throughout the wear, little bursts of rosemary continue to peek through, providing a sharp contrast to the warm base and keeping the scent feeling lively.
My only real critique is that I wish the blueberry played a larger role and that the overall scent strength was a bit stronger. With the cologne, I get around five hours of performance, while the oil and butter alone tend to land closer to the three-to-four-hour range. Even so, the scent itself is incredibly enjoyable and one I find myself wanting to revisit.
Where Wagoner's Workshop continues to shine is beard feel. The blend absorbs wonderfully, leaves my beard feeling soft, and provides exceptional skin conditioning that I genuinely appreciate every time I use it.
Overall, I'd give Blue Buried Barbershop a solid 7.5/10. It's a fresh, clean, warm-weather barbershop scent with a unique blueberry twist that offers a great balance of brightness and warmth. While I'd love a little more strength and blueberry presence, it's still a scent I thoroughly enjoy and one that has me excited to try the Minted Gent variation next. At the moment, Peach remains my favorite of the three variants, but the jury is still outāand Minted Gent just might surprise me!
