Orange Noir by Voodoo Menscraft Beard Co is an absolutely fantastic summer scent that perfectly balances bright citrus with deep, dark complexity. Alex really knows what he's doing with this one. From the moment it hits beard, the orange, tangerine, and mandarin burst forward with an incredibly fresh and vibrant citrus aroma that smells like freshly expressed orange oil straight from the rind. It's bright, juicy, and refreshing, yet there's an underlying darkness that makes it stand out from your typical citrus scent.
The Amber Noir works beautifully to deepen the profile, adding a sweet, resinous richness that allows the citrus notes to shine even brighter. As the scent develops, the cedarwood and cypress emerge, bringing a crisp, woody character that adds a sharp, almost pine-like brightness while maintaining the darker atmosphere established earlier. Even then, hints of the citrus remain present, creating a wonderfully layered experience.
Toward the end, the dark patchouli and smoked amber step in, introducing a subtle smoky spice that rounds everything out perfectly. The result is a scent that feels both fresh and mysterious, making it an ideal choice for warmer weather while still offering plenty of depth and character.
Where Voodoo Menscraft truly impressed me was the beard feel. This blend is phenomenal. It absorbs incredibly fast, leaves no greasy residue behind, and provides outstanding softness. Even when I accidentally applied more than intended, my beard soaked it up effortlessly. The glide, absorption, and overall feel-in-beard are among the best I've experienced.
The only area I'd like to see improved is longevity. On my beard, I experienced around 3-4 hours of scent duration, though I did not have the matching cologne, which may have helped extend the experience. That said, the time I spent wearing it was thoroughly enjoyable because the scent itself is so well-crafted.
Overall, Orange Noir earns a solid 7.5/10 from me. The scent profile is unique, refreshing, and beautifully blended, while the carrier blend delivers exceptional beard feel. If you haven't given Voodoo Menscraft Beard Co a try yet, I highly encourage you to do so. And if you pick up Orange Noir, consider grabbing the cologne as well—you may be glad you did!
